VOLKLORE Wins Silver Student Academy Award!
We are thrilled to announce that Volklore, directed by Viktorie Štěpánová, has won the Silver Student Academy Award in the Alternative/Experimental category at the 53rd Student Academy Awards!
The award was presented on September 14, 2026, during a ceremony held at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Produced at Prague’s FAMU and distributed internationally by Cinefila, Volklore is an experimental film exploring the transformation of Czech folklore in the age of social media, where traditions become trends, marketing tools and commodities.
This marks the first time a Czech film has been honoured in the Alternative/Experimental category of the Student Academy Awards.
